Gaucin

Gaucin (pronounced Gow-th-een) is one Andalucia’s famous Pueblos Blancos or White Villages. Perched on a balcony in the mountains of the Serranio de Ronda, overlooked by its Moorish castle, resident eagles and vultures, it is a village of tiny winding streets and spectacular views across the mountains to the sea.

Gaucin is still a working Spanish village, we have mules for neighbours and you may find yourself accompanied on walks by local goatherds. It also has a long tradition of welcoming visitors, being on the old road from Ronda to Gibraltar.

There are hotels, a variety of restarurants serving local and international food and bars serving tapas.. There are small supermarkets, lots of village shops,a post office, two banks, a small daily market and a heath food/organic veg shop that doubles as an internet café. You could buy everything you need within the village and eat at a different restaurant every night.

In the summer months there is a municipal swimming pool. All the year round there are fiestas and in the summer there are discos on the outskirts of town.

Gaucin is one hour from Gibraltar airport and one and half hours from Malaga airport. Ronda and the Costa del Sol are within easy driving distance. Granada, Seville and Cadiz are within a few hours drive on a good network of motorways that start 20 minutes from Gaucin.
